The new craze on Oahu is called 'The Crab'. The Crawlers there are not sure what to make of them.:eyes:http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q159/SoCal914/The-Crab.jpg
I thought it looked like Fred Flintstones truck. Silly me.http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q159/SoCal914/The-Crab-www.jpg

HAHAHAHA!!
I am from Oahu, if you could get that to work, people out there would love it!
Stretching out tires on super wide rims is definatly the "cool" look...

When I was in Maui summer before last I noticed all the lifted rigs there doing exactly that.

Its funny their trucks will be lifted like 10 inches, and have 33 inch tires on like 16 inch wide wheels. I wondered why they did that when I was there.

Okay, call me crazy, but with 100% pure tire in the front and back, how the heck does the driveshaft attach? Where is the pumpkin? Odd looking setup. Looks good for snow haha.
That thing can't even turn - has to be Photoshopped. A setup like that is impossible, as far as my small brain can figure it.

I guess those guys have a lot more money than I do to replace damaged wheels.

Negative backspacing and inverse offset on the wheels. No biggie. Any good tire shop can do it for you.

What kills me is that the locals can have the wheels sticking out 3 feet on either side , but as soon as one of us haole's comes over with a lifted rig we get hit up by the cops for no mud flaps and or tires not covered by fender flares.
Nearly all the locals run rigs like that though because the only wheeling available on oahu is mud, other than peacock flatts. They use the boggers to get to their fishing/hunting spots.
Cant really complain though, the three years I was there I never got harassed. Maybe because I had kamehameha on my back window.

I was referring to oahu, I know there is some sweet lava wheeling on the big island. Is that pyro's rig?

Yeah it is. I am on his site and Uplandhawaii's site too. Nice Fella's , The 'Aloha Spirit' did not fall on deaf ears in their family.

Stafford (upland) is my homie he's good people we used to trade parts when I was there. I built my jeep with the stuff I got from him. Never met pyro but talked to him a few times, kinda reminds me of Rick=).

Stafford's the Best...He's gonna show me the ropes when I get there, where we can 4X4 and where we can't. He's also going to take me bird hunting, that's what he's into now. But he did mention Pig hunting. :^) Does he know you as Homebrew? I'll be talking to him in a few days (Photoshop stuff) and I'll say "Aloha" for you.

NEI-10 wrote- "Paul... with the Cherokee? If that's the same one, tell him "ALOHA!" "

Nathan is good people to, he and I were privileged enough to have our rigs in JP once when cappa came to the island. His rig made the cover.

new to oahu. trouble with getting saftey check on my '96 xj 3" lift an 31" tires.. why am i getting so much flak when guys i know are running 12" lifts on newer model dodge with no problems?

What is their conundrum? What do they say is the problem with your truck. It can't be too high (3" lift) . Homebrew would know better but if its too loud, tire sticks out beyond flare, or safety items are missing, is the usual reason I read about.
