They been used for years,no issues.

Special, as in above and beyond your typical rebar/structural inspection would be.

Yes,any "structural" splice(not a sidewalk/housekeeping pad) other than a "lap" splice would be placed under "special inspections",done by the engineer and overseen by the AHJ.

Good, nothing out of the ordinary then. These will be University inspectors, and some private ones as well.

Been to the HP City North project yet?

Havent heard of it,but our jurisdiction is limited to Phoenix only and doesnt include the other metro cities like Tempe,Avondale.Peoria,etc..

The jobsite is right on the border, in Phoenix proper.

Yep, I see about $400k worth of them every day.

I'm the warehouse supervisor for D/S at our upper midwest service center.

We are the company's central warehouse for the Bar-Lock line. Its manufactured in Iowa. Your regional service center of Phoenix is located in Fontana,CA. Our technical service center for hardware products is in Miamisburg,OH Tel# 800-745-3700.

EDIT: I have never heard of one failing either.....

Thanks for the info.

We've got a somewhat tricky blockout in a grade beam, right near some caisson anchor bolts, so we couldnt meet the lap needed on the rebar.

These might be our solution, depending on the projection of the bolts.
