Dell....

I used to recomend them to everyone I know. I always thought their customer service was top notch until I called them about my personal computer instead of from work where we have the "gold service".

It was HORRIBLE. I was very upset with how they gave me the runaround. All I needed was the PowerDVD Cd. What a hassle.

No more Dells for me. They're great machines at an even better price but customer service is important.

hmmm... core duo.....:yelclap:

I've been building systems for about 8 years now, including building them for a computer manufacturer. The 800lb gorilla PC companies build crap, average life for the HP/compaq and dell laptops was about 8 months, toshiba and sony about the same, the IBM's just keep chugging along, running, not ending up with broken hinges, cracked LCD's, failed optical drives, etc.
The only thing that has suprised me is that no one else has adopted the magnet connect power adapter, the number of machines that users have broken the power connector off of is not real high but when it does happen it breaks the motherboard. Just my take on it...

My wife just got the brand new hotness IBM T 60, she sent it back less than a week later. Apparently, since Linova *sp* took over IBM went to crap.

You might be a little disappointed in the performance. Keep me updated on how your's works.

btw, We ended up getting a new Dell. Latitude D 620

I got a Mx-6 Mazda Speed Spoiler from Hong Kong in two days. Also had some lights come in from the UK. Took two days to get from London to Dallas, and a week to get from Dallas to here...
