I am about to install an electrical accessory into my 2001 XJ. The accessory I will be installing draws 0.06 amps when not in use. It will drain the battery even when it's not in use unless I switch it either with a simple switch or through the ignition switch.

In the installation instructions, the manufacturer of the accessory advises to either connect the positive of the power supply to the battery and then (in order to stop the thing draining the battery when the vehicle is sitting around) fit an inline switch, or the other way, connect the power supply through the power distribution center, so the accessory will only have power when the ignition switch is on. This is the way I'd like to go.

So my question is are there any spare terminals in the PCD, to wire this thing in this way so it only gets 12v when the ignition is on. It needs a 15 amp fuse.

yes there are spares in the fuse block(PCD) or u can hook it to an existing wire, like the one that power the radio when the ingnition is on.
If u have a voltage meter or a test lamp, just put it on the wire u think has power, and then turn ignition off and if there is no power , that will work.

Fuse spots 8, 13, and 24 are unused. However, I don't know if they are switch through the ignition. Power Outlet fuse #1 (25A) should be switched so you could use that as well.

If your device is fused, then the radio, #17 fuse, would work as well. Just make sure to tap it in on the B+ side and not the radio side.
