Electric stoves/camping

Most/many jeepers with modified rigs have beefed up their electrical systems to include two batteries or otherwise carry supplemental portable elec. power. I am wondering who has tried using a portable electric stove? What do you find to be the pros/cons versus using a propane or white gas stove?

A typical electric range burner (according to some internet searching) is around 750-800 watts. watts = amps X volts so 800 / 12 volts = 66 amps.

Here's a two burner electric stove (1500 watts, so must be 750 for the single burner) from target:

looking at this Amp Hour / discharge calculator (xantrex link below), if we start with a 75 amp hour deep cycle marine battery (http://www.1st-optima-batteries.com/deep_cycle_battery.html)

it says you can go .5 hours at 750 watts. So 30 minutes with a good battery. More than enough to boil water but you also want to boil water for washing dishes and bathing so in an overnight camp you might boil water several times.

Don't know if I'd want to run my batteries down every night of camping like that. Probably why most people cook with gas.
