Ive done some searching, and have found some information, but need a few things cleared up.
Here is my issue: 1990 4.0 aw4, short block replaced with 99'. The jeep starts and drives, but the tranny is stuck in first gear. With the tcu unplugged, it will shift manually fine. From other posts I have read, this could either be the tps thinking I have it floored, or the speed sensor not telling the tcu im moving. I tested the tps, using this writeup http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm
and everything came out fine. I can not find a test for the VSS. If anyone can tell me how I might do this, and what connectors to use that would be great.
also, if you can think of anything I might be missing, Id be glad to hear it. Thanks
