Front Hub Differences?

Please remind me.

What & when changed on the front hub bearings and rotors?

The P/Ns are different for my 88 HP D30 and 00 LP D30, why?

the unit bearing changed slightly between your two model years. i cant recall exactly what the years were.

i had tried to use a set of stub shafts (just the unit bearing and the outer shaft) from a renix xj when i was doing some front axle work on my 95. that was a no go- quite literally. the front wheels were locked up and would not budge.

i also know that the knuckles changed as well. on the renix era knuckles you had a totally separate bracket that bolted to the knuckle and then the caliper bolted to that. on mine (and your 00) the caliper bolts directly to the knuckle.

as to why, i have no idea. why did they go to a LP?

Just replaced mine last week, 1997 D30 Timken PN: 513084.
