I'm mounting a second crossmember to support my homemade skid.I was thinking about using self tappers but I'm looking for something more solid. What kind of hardware is available out there that will hold a cross member to the uni rails well?I've heard of special ancor bolts mentioned on here before but I can't remember the name of them.......

Get some 1/4 metal and plate the "frame" then drill and tap a few holes. It'll still be removable, and the plating will help spread the load when pivoting on a rock with your skid plate.

Or cut a hole thru the floor and put a washer and nut on from above?

When I mounted my crossmember, we cut a rect section out of the frame rail and welded in a plate with nutzerts welded to it. Seems to work fine.
