While searching, planning and ordering parts for my adjustable MAP sensor I had a wierd idea. Maybe people have already thought of it, maybe not. I was wondeirng if it was worth the time to design an djustable MAP sensor with different settings, kinda like on an oil burner. A leaner setting for economy, tow/trail setting for a next level then a higher setting for all out racing/strip. I know that the diagram I am following allows for a switch to be set in place, kinda like a factory/non-factory, I was like hey, why not a higher setting?

Fuel ratio is not that flexible on a gas motor. Diesels just like fuel period, all those boxes and chips do is add more. If you get to much fuel in a diesel it just black smokes which is fine. On a gas motor you could maybe have a 10hp swing between settings and still stay safe your your air fuel.

I am actually in the process of building one right now (as soon as I find something to put it in I'll be wiring it up). I am doing a different variation, but it might work if you wanted to have multiple settings. I am using a 3 positions switch, ON1-OFF-ON2, and I am going to wire it in such that ON1 = richer (>5 volts) setting, ON2 = Factory setting (5 volts), and OFF = off (0 volts). I figure this will act as a good theft deterrent system for when I have to leave it places for longer periods of time. I imagine you could probably wire it using a similar setup where OFF = factory and ON2 = <5 volts for a leaner mixture. Just an idea, although I doubt you'd want to run it much leaner if you've done any form of exhaust or intake mods.

I am planning to also use a 3 position switch, and thats kinda what I am thinking. Have one position for factory setting, which for me would be lean and then a higher, rich, setting for power. Never thought about having an off for a theft system........not a bad idea.

Make 2 and i'll take one, after testing of course.......

Why would you want lean? Lean does not always mean better mileage.
