Been driving all week cause of my crunched toe but head on the news that the Bushes are coming to manhattan and west side hiway in the same sentence so I tried he train from north jersey. Pretty cool, much more comfortable than any airplane I've flown in lately.
What made it interesting is that the portion called the Path subway [change trains in hoboken] goes under the hudson to the financial center and then comes out in the hole where the WTC used to be so you get to see it up close, ground hole level. It was all new to me because I have not been in NYC since about 2 weeks before 911 and had only seen pictures.
It does choke you up and causes feelings of doing violence to the ones and their associates who did this.
I have to wonder if the terrorists truly realize what they did and what they have started by their acts.

Yeah, the PATH train works pretty well. Decent schedule, pretty clean and safe too, it seems. We went for dinner in Manhattan some time ago, and that was my first time to the WTC. Emotional. I went again om 9/11 to pay my respects and a meeting later.
Looks like on Monday I will be commuting to Manhattan for a couple weeks on a project. Not sure if I will take the ferry or PATH... really depends on the work schedule. The ferry costs a bit more, but I can walk to the job in mid town. The PATH means I then need to also take the subway to Rockefeller Center. Choices, choices.

Terrorists don't care wether or not they kill people as that is not their objective. Their goal is to terrorize and upset the social fabric of their victims. Studies have shown that most terrorist acts occur in the afternoon. That's just enough time for the media/press to get headlines out to the public without any substantive details included. Our enemies are far from stupid and are very good at succeeding in their objectives.
