So I've got some footage that was shot at EJS on an 8mm camcorder.

I need to get it into some format like wmv so I can tinker with it on the computer and ultimately get it uploaded onto youtube or something.

Anyone know what I should be doing to get this done?

If it's on 8mm, I assume it's a really old camcorder (pre-DV)? You'll need a video capture card which will allow you to digitize the vid onto your computer. From there, you can edit and convert it to any format your want

So in reality I need to find someone that plays with this junk and has the computing equipment to convert it for me.

I'll have to see if he's got a camera. He migt not be able to do it without the camera too... I'll let you know

cant you plug in the AV jacks and record it to a DVD then upload to a PC from the disk ? assuming you have or know someone with a DVD recording device.
