Stupid U Bolt Question

Im swapping in my 29 spline 8.25 replacing my d35 and i have the u bolts for it i got from a buddy that are plenty long, but he didnt have the plates for em, will the d35 plates work with the 8.25 u bolts? I know that the 8.25 u bolts are bigger but I seem to have some room in my plates now with the d35 u bolts in em.

General rule of thumb...never, I mean never re-use the u-bolts. Always get new ones.

The plates work with all rear axles,D35,D44,8.25.
