So I was fortunate enough to hook with with an Apple development team and install 3.0 betaV2 OS/firmware. All I can say is you will love it.
Landscape Email and text, MMS, Copy and paste, video, and a few more tricks I wont disclose!

Sweet.
So, wanna throw us a bone on the other "tricks" coming? When is this supposed to be released?
Now if they will only fix the major lack of the calender features, that would be great.

I am on Beta2 right now and expect Beta3 in May, so look for the final release in June. No more trick tips right now!!

Oh yeah, rumor is there will be "screenshot" capturing too. Cant verify this on Beta2 though. 2 more features include Voice Memo recording and Voice Dialing
BruceB83

There already is "screenshot" capturing. I've heard about the voice recording...you can send it as an e-mail which is pretty cool.
To take a screen shot, press both the top and front button at the same time...

My Voyager has a touchscreen and I can load 8GB worth of music on a memory card.
It also has a clinometer app. If it slides when I set it down, I know I'm tilted too far.

Yeah touchscreen has been out for a very long time and guided gps has been available on other devices for a years as well. I'm not saying that the iphone isn't a great device, but apple steals ideas from other companies and acts as if they are world changing. Take for instance the ring/vibrate switch that palm has had on their devices for years, GPS has been available on almost all the other AT&T smartphone devices with Voice-guided GPS for at least 2 years as well as other carriers. Also every other device(Blackberry, Windows mobile, Palm) has had copy, cut, and paste when the iphone hasn't. Not to mention that there is no logic to why they couldn't have made the landscape keypad available in email and text from the beginning, or mms since kids playing in their basements have been able to fix this since they launched June of '07. All of the other devices also use removable storage so you can expand the devices.

Does your smartphone have an actual internet browser other than MobileWeb or whatever the Fagberry has? How well does it browse NAXJA? How about WiFi? I've had Fagberry, Treo and other smartphones and have always been left disappointed. I guess what I am saying is what other phones have ALL the features and interface of the iPhone? My guess is.........................none. :) How is scrolling with that joystick? LOL!
Also, the research I have come up with says that iPhone outsells all other smartphones. Wonder why that is?

The iPhone is better.
The end.
Chris - don't let the haters pull you into another long drawn out battle. You know the iPhone is better....let them suffer if they choose not to believe it. And yeah, anyone who argues they have "web browsing" on their BlackBerry is retarded. You can go to NAXJA and reply to a thread in the same time it takes on a desktop...it takes about 3 or 4 times longer on a BlackBerry...there is NO comparison there.

We have raced many times with the internet bc we are competitive with everything. I win literally nine times out of ten and secondly my coverage is way better than his. He doesnt even get service at his house in Harrison and I get a wonderful four bars there. So theres my experience with both of them. So quit discounting other stuff just bc its not what you have . He doesnt even get service at his house in Harrison and I get a wonderful four bars there.
Service disruption is something you get with all carriers, so that argument is like comparing chocolate to sunflower seeds. $250 says that you wont come to my house and make a call with with more than 1 bar with your Verizon phone and I will have full service on my Piephone. Fair?

I moved OFF of the BB Curve 8310 last June...the iPhone browsing is much faster and more efficient. If you're comparing the speed, then yeah, depending on where you're at the Curve might have been faster because it had better service. Don't turn this into a carrier service dispute because it just depends on where you live.

If you crop off the top and bottom display bars, it looks exactly like it looks on your computer and navigates the exact same way. No, that's actually wrong...if you could flick your finger down the computer screen and have it shoot to the bottom, then it would be the same. :shhh:

I am an Iphone and blackberry user. I never stated that I didn't like the Iphone but I just am not an Apple Co. fan in general with the way they treat their products. I also have been in the Cellular industry for over 5 years so don't act so high and mighty with your arguements and "cute" names for competitors' devices. The Iphone hands down has the best Mobile browser on a device, but devices that support Opera come somewhat close. The HTC Fuze, Samsung Epix, Blackberry Bold 9000 are just a few to name that have the same features as the Iphone including Wifi . HTCs are probably the closest to the Iphone with their TouchFlo software and the nice thing about them is you can also use a stylus which I think it a plus sometimes.
And as far as scrolling with the trackball, not joystick, there is no problem with in anything other than the web browser. I would prefer any blackberry keypad over the Iphone any day. The Iphone has one of the best touch keypads but I would much rather have real keys to type on.

You know Apple has to be totally pissed that they are in an exclusive agreement with AT&T right now. You could probably multiply there sales so far by 3 if the iPhone was also available on Verizon, Sprint, and Tmobile. However, I'm sure AT&T, in some form, paid an arse-load for exclusive rights.

Naw, it's strategic. Keep it in limited form. Then, after it's been out for a few years and interest starts to wane, open it up to every other provider. BAM, renewed interest in the iPhone.

I doubt that'll happen though. The iPhone is the only ATT phone I know of that can update over and over again. They'll keep reworking it and adding the thingsthat other phones come out with in a short time after so it'll keep the ppleople happy for the most I believe

Rumor has it Verizon was originally offered the Iphone by Apple but they didn't accept the off. It is also easier for them to build it as a GSM phone for AT&T(T-mobile as well) than it is for Verizon since GSM is used in other countries whereas CDMA is almost dead.

And I know a lot of people who have switched over to ATT for the iPhone...
I'm one of them, I had Cingular/AT&T for almost 8 years... then I switched to Verizon and now I'm back to AT&T. I had the Voyegar and the Storm. The only thing I miss about Verizon or any of their phones for that matter, is the signal. For the area I live in, Verizon always had more bars than any other carrier.
For me, other smartphones are just more business oriented while the iPhone is more a "universal" phone. It might have "copied" a few features that other phones have but isn't that what all companies do? It's the little things I like about the iPhone that make it better than other smartphones. It has the best touchscreen of any phone I have held, you don't have to do "soft resets" all the time like I had to do with my Storm, it doesn't get slower when you switch apps and forget to close the other one and the app store tells you when updates are available for your apps. It's just a better phone hands down IMO.
