I don't have the money yet. But I was wondering if it is ok to buy used ring and pinion gears. Or is it just best to buy new. I have caught the addiction and don't have enough money to satisfy it! Oh and how much would a used ring and pinion go for?

Thanks

you pretty much never want to buy a used R&P set... but some do with decent luck. it's just hard to get a good install and guarantee it.

Thanks, I think I will just save up and buy new ones.

Ive done it on my last two vehicles, it was set up by a professional. I don't think it a big deal, but there is always the possibility of a problem, I personally have never had one. What gears do you have now, what transmission>? tires? Most likely you wont find used 4.56 but more along the lines of some 4.10s or something

one thought might be to look for geared axles. i was able to find a D30 with 4.56 and a tru track for 300 bucks. can't beat that price...

Since I need a better rear axle, I think I will look for an already geared one. I have the AX-15 3.07 gears on 31". When I buy new tires I was thinking about getting 32"s or 33"s and trimming and bumpstops.
