Ford radius arm question

Is there a special bolt for the radius arms? I was attempting to install one on my 44 with new insulators. I had taken a radius arm to the local hardware store to find the proper bolt size to fit the threads. I got grade 10.5 bolts that fit the best. I went to install them and they didn't go in very easy, I thought that it was a combination of dirty threads and the fact that you really have to sqeez those insulators to fully tighten those brackets. So with a little help from a 3/4" drive impact I managed to strip every one of the threads on one side.:gee: I am stumped. Are there special bolts that I need?

I was thinkin' they were normal 1/2"-13 bolts...

yup, they sure there. Definitely not a metric bolt.
