So it got me thinking after what I posted earlier and YES its true. I have no motivation to even bother with my Jeep.
I don't know if it is the lack of wheeling or what?
I thought of going to the fall fling and now think I should have went just to ride along. :( BTW I have NEVER went on a wheeling trip without me driving.
Oh well my bad I should have taken the time off work and cruised along, maybe that would have helped give me the motivation for wheeling again. :dunno:
My biggest reason for lack of going on wheeling trips is the quality of my rig, I don't feel comfortable driving there and back in it. I do not wanna burdon anybody with trail fix of anykind, I have done that enough.
I have even thought about just parking it and buying a xj and doing a budget build? But then again my mind changes as much as xj4moab.
Anybody else feel kinda MEH about jeepin.
BTW Brian R happy belated b day.

JeeperG, you just need to get down to Moab and get re-infected with the bug!

I can fix your problem, you can buy my jeep. It has almost everything you need and can go on almost any trail you want. bargin price $26,750.00 I have spent about 35,000 putting it together at wholesale prices. It brings you back from the trail every time. Jerry

A) you definitely need to get out wheelin
B) I knew you guys were much harder core wheelers than myself. I do my best to not break down while wheelin as it's my everyday vehicle too.
C) I just can't imaging not wanting to fix my XJ. I wish I had more time and money to spend fixing mine.

Another thing I learned Saturday. Not unhooking the swaybar makes me also rub in the rear fenders.

I know of an XJ that will be coming on the market soon. I don’t know any details yet but will let you know if you are interested. I do know it is older so it cant be too expensive.

I think its just a combination of all the things I need to do, Don't think its the lack of me not wanting to wheel, just I have no motivation to fix all the things I would like to make me more comfortable driving 4.5 hours to moab, wheeling for a few days and driving back. You know what its like to break down in Price on easter sunday? IT SUCKS. Then the next day walking 2 miles to checker then your jeep to fix it.

Guess my jeep hasn't ever broke down in Price. BUT I did have a Toyota break down in the middle of the desert between Page & Flagstaff. It was a long night out there on the desert with two little kids. So, I guess if your jeep is truly going to breakdown on the way to Moab, then you need to get your butt in gear and get some motivation to fix it.

Oh I am sure I could drive it there and back, BUT running any of the trails I would like is the problem, 35" tires w/d35c NOT GOOD. LOL

Here you go Mr Frumpy pants.....

BTW, since all I have is a pile of lift and axle parts so far......I taking the stocker to Moab and wheeling it this weekend. Prolly run Porky Rim and mayby hitch a ride on Pritchett.
IMO, building and wheeling a driver is more fun than a dedicated trail rig anyway and the XJ is a much better fit for that than the YJ platform (haul more pizza's too) , but what to do I know..........

That is what I have been trying to tell Gifton all along. I think an XJ would suit him so much better. Not to mention the fact he is pretty much family around here and the knowhow and vast amount of info we all have gathered here would make it much easier to get going.
Not also to mention that the resale on YJ's is so much higher. He could sell the YJ and buy an older nice cherokee and still manage to lift and lock it.

Sounds tempting. I'd like some steel bent someday and I may need ball joint work done, it would be nice to help (read: screw up :D ) on someone elses junk first. :D Saturday evening works better though.....

when are we going to start Shop Days and BEHS? Much better than my tiny cramped garage (which still beats Stewie's garage, lol).
