G/f and I broke up this morning. Decided that we're both looking at different paths for the future and we likely wont be able to stay together and both do what we want for further education and careers without one of us making a huge sacrifice.

I feel like crap.

Thats a bummer man, i have never been in something for that long. But i would just try to stay focused on the positives, i know it seems like there are not that many there but just stay positive man :D

Major bummer. At least it's something you found out now and not after 12 years of marriage... not that I know anything about that.

It's a mixed blessing, it's tough to leave someone you've been with for a long time. Hopefully it was mutual with no bad feelings. In the end it will be for the better.

I agree with everyone, its better now then later. Iv been with mine 3 years now and it doesnt seem like that long. But I would rather it end now than in 10 year while married with some kids man. Good luck with the sexy jeep mmmmmm jeep sex.

Wanna go? My bud there has to work all weekend so I'd be on my own. My g/f and I spent alot of weekends in Vegas and alot of the places hold memories and I'm unsure if going there would be the right move this weekend.

Dude, sorry to hear that but look at the bright side, wouldn't it have sucked if you had gotten married and then realized it wasn't gonna work? There are plenty of single women out there and eventually you will be head over heals for someone else. Just concentrate on hooking up your jeep while you have more time :)

Sorry to hear it too John, but Robert has it all wrong. DON'T try to make an ex a "life long friend" you weren't married, didn't have kids.....NO need to keep in contact. Move on and get with another chick. Been there done that many times and nothing makes you forget like a new one. Sorry if it sounds cold but thats how life is.

Sorry to hear about your breakup John. My GF of nearly 4 years and I broke up (actually we were engaged) during my 3rd year of medical school... Luckily I had school to keep me so busy I didn't often have time to dwell on how sad I was at the time. Looking back it was the best thing that ever happened. You'll get through it bro!

After 2 sleepless nights for the both of us she called to talk. Thinks we're rushing things when neither of us are quite sure where we're going to land in the coming months. Admittedly, communication was lacking about plans for the future on both ends.

We're seeing if it might still work.

truer words have never been spoken. i dated a broad for almost 2 years, thought everything was good, but always was kinda iffy on our future.

i meant my current fiancee and i seriously knew within our first date that she was the one. it was that simple. i just knew, so i proceeded with her. we've only been dating for 14 months but we are getting married in june and we our daughter is 6 weeks old. i can't explain it, i just knew. you'll know without a doubt as well.
