Hello,
As a few of you have prolly noticed, when you add some bigger tires, and get a few feet higher in the air the stock 4.0L starts to lose some of its grunt.
I am looking for ways to get that grunt back, so I can keep up to all the toyota's ripping around the back roads up here.. and more importantly to keep the mud out of my tread when I get into the sticky stuff.
So the question is, whats the best way to go about it? I have heard of engine swaps, v6-v8, those kind of things. But lets face it.. we're Jeep people. I wanna keep the stock i6.
I have heard of people stroking the 4.0L to 4.6-5.0L. This is really interesting to me since I am wanting to dive into my engine bay and do a complete rebuild anyways. It has a few miles on er, but we all know they are bombproof if you take care of them.
I have also heard of people throwing in superchargers? Are there any links to these? And links for kits to stroke out the i6? Any help would be awesome.. I want to be able to throw my head back again when I find an open field.
