I notice some lift kits have lower control arms (some fixed, some adjustable) and some don't. Are new control arms needed with a 3 inch lift of coils, leaf springs and shocks?
I'm running stock control arms with 4" of lift (started as 3" kit, turned into a 4" bastard) and have run it this way for almost a year. You can wheel it fine, but be prepared to pull junkyard stock arms and swapping them once in awhile...as you'll tweek the control arms and bushings beyond repair when flexing offroad. I personally just grabbed my friends old set when he lifted his rig.
For the record, I'll be pulling out the cash for adjustable flex joint upper and lower control arms this week. If you have the cash you may as well buy aftermarkets, if not...you can run it fine for awhile.
