alarm causing jeep not to start

ok so i kno u guys know about other jeeps then xj's sooo my friend just got a 95 grand cherokee limited with a 5.2l and it wont start b/c the alarm is engaged and the truck didnt come with a button too turn it off. is there a way to completely disengage the alarm so we can start the motor? i am pretty sure the alarm is factory.

Putting the key in the drivers door and locking/unlocking it a couple times should solve your problem if I remember correctly. We had this problem with my buddies ZJ but I am a little fuzzy on how we solved it.

Edit: I seem to recall something about holding the key in either the lock or unlock position for a few seconds.

ok i guess i will try that tomorrow. does anyone know if there is a way two remove the alarm?

you can try grounding the factory alarm disarm wire.
