My Jeep is a 1997 4X4 Country with the factory UP Country package. I used some metric wrenches to gauge the size of the front sway bar. The best fit seems to be 27 mm.
The only problem is that the Jeep dealer says it has to be either 25mm or 28mm. I am afraid 28mm will be too loose, but the 25 mm will be a bear to get the bracket around.

The Jeep is street driven so I do not think I need the extra strength of poly bushings which are available after market in 27 mm.

Any recommendations on what size bushing I need for an Up Country front sway bar?

Using wrenches to measure anything isn't a very good idea - manufacturing tolerances are fairly loose on those, since they don't have to fit the hex precisely, and have to have room to be put on and taken off.

Do you have access to a caliper? If you can only get an inch caliper, take the measurement as a decimal and multiply by 25.4 to get m/m.

If you don't have a caliper of your own, you can pick up a dial caliper fairly cheaply. A Vernier is a bit more reliable, but the learning curve is a little steeper (and some of us - like myself - can't read the damn things without a magnifying glass...) Upside? A Vernier has fewer moving parts, and nothing the reading depends on moves...
