8.25 axle question

need to do some work on my axle and need to make a tool to set carrier preload. have the pie and welded on a socket ..does anyone know what size nut to weld on for the hex preload adjuster? I only ask because i haven't pulled the axle out yet.

You can get away with an adjustable spanner wrench, that's I did with mine. but no I have no idea, it's REALLY big I know that maybe 1 1/4 hex head.

When I made the tool, I ground down a large bolt head to 1 5/16" and welded it into a long peice of tube with another bolt welded in the other end. Works great.

36mm,same size as a front hub nut.
