Trying to drum up some more NAXJA bodies for a Badlands trip this weekend. Should be good with some KY NAXJA types coming up as well as the Mid Rivers Jeep Thing (Missouri) having their "Octoberfest" as well. Should be plenty of good wheeling.
I'm heading down Friday early AM. Haven't decided on lodging yet or whether I'll be roughing it at the campground.

I'll be there, look for a white utilitarian built XJ on grooved 36's
I will probably be with a large group from www.ucora.org and www.4given4x4.com from Michigan.

Perhaps on the 7th, on the quad. While I cannot join you in the quarry or any of the trails that leave there, I can follow you on Orange and laugh when you get stuck :D

Cool... looks like a busy weekend for the Badlands, especially if a large contingent from MI is coming.

Please stop talking about all the fun you are going to have, you are motivating me to bust my arse and fix my jeep. Still have to fix a wheel cylinder and shock mount that I busted on the last trip, on top of the tcase swap I am atempting.

you don't need that shock, and the wheel cylinder was barely leaking ;) Just clamp it off, it's a trailer queen anyway.

Those two things are the small things.

so the lack of a t-case might be a problem

I have the tcases.......on my work bench. Its the shifting and drive shafts that might be the problem.

just shift them both into lowrange. and go ...c'mon Or I have a seat open as well.

As fun as that sounds I couldn't keep up with the 4:1 in the tcase, couldn't imagine running around with both of them engaged (7.12:1). I am working on it.

hell, just run it in high range, you're high range is just as deep as my first gear low I think.
You and them crazy 5.13's

BTW - I do have a Warn 2500 on the quad, so I am sure that will help. :D

You do know...that now...IF you get stuck and I pull you out with that winch, the ribbing will never end......right?
99% that I will be there at 9AM.

If you pull anyone out with that thing they should paint their rig to look like a rainbow trout.
Hmmm, actually that might look cool anyway.
See you in the AM Rev...

Back from West Central IN. Nice running all weekend. Met the Steelfish, and hooked up for a short time with the Rev before he headed off to play with the kids on his ATV.
Sheared off my rear DS on the same little wall Brad trashed his last Carnagefest. Luckily I just lost 2 end caps off the U-joint and sheared off the bolts in the rear yoke. Drilled em out (cept one) and put new caps on courtesy of the Napa in town and was back up and running in an hour. Broke off an easy-out in one hole so no drilling that beyotch out with a fading battery DeWalt. Had the guy in the BL shop weld on the straps to the yoke. Engine torque isn't gonna break that loose anytime soon!!
Quite a few Jeeps there this weekend and a boatload of quads. Ran mostly by myself though. It was quiet, almost peaceful. No waiting for someone to unstuck their junk or get it running.
Glad to have met some of the Mid Rivers guys and the Steelfish.
Is there anywhere in Attica or near Attica that has a good dinner?? Fried chicken perhaps or at least some mashed taters??? The Short Stop and McD's just don't cut it! The Wheelers Family Diner closed. Is the chow at that Robie's any good??

Glad you had a good time Rob, wish I could have made it. I didn't get to wheel but at least I got to work on my junk......

Wished I could have made it but like haleyes I worked all day on my rig also. I should be ready soon, all the parts for my 44 should be here soon. If I knew how to post pics from my cheap ass camera I would do a little gig on my build up. Its my first attempt at building instead of buying all the extras.

I seen you heading down to the Badlands in your XJ. I was headed northbound from Purdue and I seen you somewhere by the Kankakee River. It's kind of hard not to notice your rig . Glad to hear there wasn't too much breakage.

Rocketman it was nice to meet you...good looking XJ as well, very clean
Rev heard you ran in to another guy that was with us, one of these days we'll meet.
We had a blast both Saturday and Sunday. Watched a guy toast his rear shaft and tcase in the quarry.

Check the Cliffs thread. Hey, it was a BIG quad. I was up there with my 4 year old for almost an hour before someone came by to help. Glad he did.
