Relays relays relays and.. fuses

So I am tired of the spiderweb of wires underneath the hood and want to clean all of it up and redo it. This means amongst other things a new accessory fusepanel and a new relay panel. I've searched and came up with this: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=772 for relays and http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=771 for fuses but... I'd prefer to use something that takes standard relays that rest of my jeep uses. Anyone knows of a nice 4 or so relay box? and nice enclosed fuse panels?

Thanks

Ha, thats pretty funny, I've actually been looking for similar things the past week or so. I was actually about to come post up a thread.

I found this last night while searching, scroll down to the modular fuse and relay housing. it can get somewhat expensive depending on what you add, but it looks pretty nice. Not sure how much you are looking to spend.

I would love to find a nice enclosed relay box, if anyone knows of any.

Also, with that ATC fuse block, I was looking at a smaller version, the 4 gang one, and it says 30A max per circuit, but had a max of 50A total, so I would just double check the numbers.

Waytek Wire has a pretty nice selection of wire products.

So on this set up, top right side, would all the fuses be controlled by a relay? That would be wired to...???

No, they are independant of each other. That is just a panel that has accomidations for fuses and a relay. You have to wire everything the way you want to wire it.

Get a late model PDC,my 2K has this available......
2 Std relays
8 Micro relays
16 Std fuses
14 Jumbo fuses
BTW,its modular.

My '99 has 4 std relays, and only 4 micro relays. You can see a picture of someone else's here.
How well would the micro relays work for offroad lights, etc?

I considered this before I made mine...do the micro's hold the same amps? I know they(the box) take up a bit more space...

First, the micro's are about 1/2 size to a std.IIRC the stds can go to 40A,I think the micro's only do 20-25A.

the standard size can be had up to 60 amp...thats what I run for my head lamp wiring (piggy-back setup). Thanks for the info, Mike

Ya I did notice it was modular, and I was hoping originally to get 2 PDC and combine parts from both. I actually found a PDC service guide online, and it says you need a special tool to remove the cassettes though.

it took 3 PDC's to assemble two boxes, YJ an XJ, and to remove the e-fittings I used a set of eyeglass screwdrivers.

the '91-'96 boxes look like this , I think, and can hold 7 relays. Mike
