A few years back NAXJA had a bunch of business cards made. I still have a few of them, but we need an updated design.

Does anyone here have any expertise in this department?

I think this is a great idea, and perhaps some new shirts and hats.....not to ruffle any feathers here, but our logo is 10 years old too.

Can you post a scan/screenshot/picture of what the current ones look like? You know I'm no PS guru, but I'll post up some examples for everyone's amusement later. :D

I'd rather not muddy the water with the old design.

It has the naxja name as well as a discription of what the club 'is.'

The back has a list of the different chapters...

I like the logo and think it should be left alone....
More cards would be nice though.
When a design is made up, perhaps it could be posted and people could print it off, take it to their local print shop, and have some made localy, save $$ on shipping.

I have a little, but I'd have to drag out my desktop to get photoshop so I could modify a picture of an XJ. I have an idea in mind...

A lot of the costs are for print set up. Its really not that much more money to go from 1K to 2K. Probably cheaper than shipping, but having a downloadable format on this site would be nice too.

BTW NAXJA doesn't really doesn't use our logo either. The one on the site (upper left) is the official logo, but it is not duplicated in any of our shirts, hats, stickers etc. The closest we get to it is on our small stickers that are mailed out with the membership packages, and even then its not all that close....

Someday, we will get it updated in a more readily duplicated format.

I have been distributing the original NAXJA cards for years now. When I run low I just have the local printshop make more. Probably distributed about 500 over the past 3-5 years.

five years?!? you've only been a member for four! :laugh3:

in all honesty though, I do agree that it would be good to update the logo to a more easily duplicated format. Would be nice to have more consistency throughout the different areas, i.e. Web, t-shirts, business cards, etc etc

You fail to realize that I have only been a paying member for four. Would be a life member if they started that again.
I like the logo and it is well recognized so I oppose changing it. Just update the cards with current numbers and call it done.

Which logo do you like?
The logo on the site, or the cards or the stickers or the one on the hats?

LOVE THIS IDEA... Pulled for it before. Asked Lobster about this a few times.

Heres the one I had made up. Something simple you could hand to any XJ driver, space to put your email or # (back could be blank or whatever)

i like the idea, but would offer some advice.

it needs work on the kerning (space between the letters) and they look crooked in relation to eachother ... or was that intentional? i cant tell, Tahoma is kind of a poorly designed font. i like the image of the XJ, but maybe it could be a stocker on one side and a built monster on 35s on the other, to better illustrate your slogan at the top.

i think the back could hold the blurb about the club that is on the front of the current card, and have the chapter names circling that information as with the current cards. maybe throw something in there about fighting for land use issues as well, depending on available space.

just my 2¢

I was JUST working on one for the MWC last night.

I remembered that there were some concerns about everybody and their brother using the NAXJA logo, that the logo is technically property of the club.

Should I fininsh my design, then post it up for a BOD okay before I proceed to the printer?

Go right ahead. I don't have a problem with the chapters making thier own, but run it by the BOD before heading to the print shop.

Well, I think I'm leaning toward something more personal, to include my own site and contact info, too.

It's still rough, but it's a start.

I'll put all the contact info (name, both sites, email, maybe a phone number) on the back.

I know the NAXJA should be red, and maybe it still will be, I haven't decided.

Like I said, a work in progress...
