My father, Dean L. Cummins, passed away this morning after 86 wonderful years. My dad was a WWII veteran, part of an artillery unit in central Europe - he was discharged with an 85% disability in 1945 after suffering frostbite to both feet and his lungs, though he refused to collect a penny until 2001, he refused to let his military experiences define him. He was the longest standing member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, likely by more than a decade, and he leaves behind not only me, but my 2 boys, and my sister, who works with the USACE. Dad was a beautiful man, and lived a beautiful life -- any success I have is a direct reflection on his wonderful soul. I will miss him, every day.

I may be a bit out of the loop for a while now, I have plenty on my plate -- thanks to you all for your support, I can feel it even when it goes unspoken.

Chris

......it is always hard to know what to say in a situation like this so I am not going to say anything too profound................

I will say; hope you find the piece of mind and soul you deserve.......and remember you can come vent on here anytime you need to! :peace:

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cummin's when I installed a heater in his home. I spent more time just shooting the breeze with him than I did actually working. I can honestly say it was time well spent.

Your dad was a great guy Chris and spoke highly of you, Sheila, and his eyes simply sparkled when he spoke of the boys.

Although I didn't know him well, I certainly didn't look upon him as just a customer for the day. I saw him as Your Dad.....and that is something that he was deeply proud of being.

My sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to you and your entire family.

God Speed Dean Cummins.

Let me know if you need anything Chris.

My Grandfather fought and in WWII and he never wanted to talk about it much, he passed Jan 08. He was a great man. Sorry to hear about loss.
