Anybody catch the article in the Gazette about the 2 hunters that claim to have seen a mother grizzly and 2 cubs near Independence Pass recently? Pretty sweet.

I've had some trouble with bears camping on the Grand Mesa. Had one rummaging through my pop-up last year while the family and I were out fishing. Ran it off, but it kept coming back. Eventually we had to pack up, because the wife refused to stay out with our three year old over night with the bear being so close.

Some hunters have a hard time identifying the correct animal though. Had some hunters here on the Grand Mesa claim to shoot a bull elk. When in fact the kid shot a bull moose. :dunno: (Cailifornians)

DOW has been all over Indy Pass looking for them. No sighting yet.

They could've very easily been cinnamon black bears. We have a lot in the area.
