Nope, this was filmed in Europe, that's probably a real Ferrari!

This fight is a bit more fair

Not really surprising when you have that many cubic inches. Our British friends on Top Gear got an old beat up Jaguar to beat the some of the most common supercars with just a ton of nitrous (again not surprising).

I hope a 572 CI (9.5 liter) engine can beat a 400 hp car T_T. If you figure that a 7.0 LS7 puts out 505 horse power that car could be making 600-700 HP NA im not sure if it said if it was super/turbo'd or not but yes awesome jeep, there is a race between that and a i think 800 hp vette or something of the like it gets the hole shot but gets run down at the top end which is to be expected with the aerodynamics of the flying brick :P As for the movie...
I like topgear but those numbers if that was a 1/4 mile race had to be wrong. Not sure what year that was but a stock c5z or c6z it would run mid to low 12's at least if they are calling stock vettes super cars then lol @ them but never the less even stock c5's would run under 13's

In 1991 GMC's Syclone (a pretty rad truck, IMO) had a faster 1320 time than the Ferarri 348. Only reason it did not have a higher top speed was due to the electronic limiter.

Cyclones and Typhoons FTMFW.

Id love to swap that engine or a buick 3.8 into an XJ.

^ There was a thread about on here. Allegedly a top secret, GM modified 3.8 SFI turbo was put in(or something silly along those lines, not sure I want to believe it.)

Thread turned to crap and it was locked after like 2 days....never found it again. Neat truck though.

The specific truck that broke the land speed record? Or the one that raced against the 348?

Neither. It was a "barn find". It was a blue 2 door XJ, and had all kinds of "paperwork" from GM stating what the engine was and why it had it.

I've tried searching but its gone. It was an incredible truck none the less, too bad the thread turned into a flame war.

cool find, sad that people had to be the way they were in that thread though.
