Wow, I had no idea they were in trouble. I just seen on the news, their workers are PO'd. Alot of their paychecks bounced. Sucks, they had some good food.

Other than the Chili they offered?

Maybe just locally? I haven't heard, read, or seen anything about it. Thats kind of like McDonalds or Burger King going under. I don't really see it happening.

Didn't care for the chili. I liked the chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, and baked potatoes.

Man, how can they go out of business, every one I go to has a %$$# LINE I have to wait in unless it's the drive thru...
Like all the fast food places though their menu got too big. Need to go back to basics, $.25 cent burgers and fries and $.50 cent shakes. Look at White Castle, no 75 item menu there and they do good...

I would say some thing but some may take it as a racist remark. :D

had a few close by me in the last few years.....but probably because there were just too many in too small of an area. i doubt the whole chain is going under, though

Rocketman
September 28th, 2006, 17:27
Nahhhh, just a local franchisee going under. Wasn't paying his mortgage payments, payrolls bounced. Probably skimming. Thus the closures. Probably had nothing to do with business volume.

They will survive with one of the only things I actually miss about that town. The crave.

Wish there was a Whiteys up here in Woodland.

It's one of the best places to go to when intoxicated. That or White Castle. Or Jack in the Box. Or Dennies. Or the Waffle House.

Oh man there are waffle houses all over the place. Everytime I go up 75 through Georgia, there is this one small town that has two Waffle Houses, one on each side of the freeway. At least you get the same crappy food everywhere you go.

Can't swing a dead cat down here without hitting at least 2 Waffle Houses....as a displaced Yankee, I LOVE 'em!:pig: (but I'm a freak and order my waffles "well done")

My wife, on the other hand, refuses to step foot inside one.....

When I think of Waffle House, I think of a breakfast greasy spoon!

NOW, having lived in Houston, I miss the mexican fast food breakfast. Taco Cabana. Chorizo, potato, egg burritos. Very good, and good for you too!! At 3AM, Tacos AlCarbon...

Got that same problem, whenever we are down south I end up eating breakfast alone, even the kids won't go in one. Geeze I mean, so what if your clothes soak up the grease in the air, makes em waterproof says I....
Scrambled eggs, side of hashbrowns, sausage, couple of waffles, couple of more waffles, coffee, more waffles and then waddle out....I'm set for the day. None up this way....
But then she has friendlies and I don't do friendlies....cept their ice cream cakes.

Friendly's seemed better when I was 7 years old.

Friendly's seemed better when I was 7 years old.

Every Friendly's takes like 10 hours to get your food out to you. I tend to get impatient and start playing with everything; straw, straw wrapper, napkin, soda, salt and pepper, anything I can get my hands on. By the time we get the food, my girlfriend has taken everything away from me.

If I thought they'd keep...I'd have ya do that. They tend to cleanse the system enough as it is. Can't imagine the effect if they were spoiled. :passgas: :passgas:

I'm sure she wouldn't be very happy with me.

I like Steak n' Shake, too. Some of them suck, but when you find a good one, it is pretty deccent.

As for Wendy's, it looks like a St. Louis region thing. There was one a block from my work.

Here is a little more info if anyone cares..

http://www.sj-r.com/Sections/News/Stories/96896.asp

Wendy's was a shithole, anyway. Frosties are the only thing I will really miss.
