chromoly dana 30 axle shafts

just got set of chromoly dana30 axle shafts
with spicer u-joint and it came with clips half clips

i destroyed few stock axle shafts with 33" tires and lockright
now im getting 35", so I got chromolys

my question is before i use to weld caps( just tack them)
so if clip comes out of u-joint, the cap doesn't fly out
and destroys u-joint and cap

do I need to worry about that on chromolys
or the clip should be good enough

Not with a single tack, he'll be fine.

Keep them if you want the u joint to act like a stock one, spitting out the cap.

Tack weld the caps or do full circle clips.

Or do both..But, definitely tack the cap of you keep the stock clips :guitar:

I have been running alloyusa shafts for a few years now, after The alloyusa ujoints wore out I have been using spicer joints with halfclips, and not a problem yet. I just recently installed a front aussie locker so I will be tacking all my caps before the season begins. If you happen to find a source for full c clips please let me know, Cant find them anyhwere around here.
