Fellas-

I found an ad on Craig's List local to me for a D44/D60 pair and a divorced NP205 T-case from a '76 F-250 highboy... If this would be of use to anyone I'd be willing to pick it up.

I'm not gonna ship these things... I'm willing to pick them up for one of my MWC brethren and hold onto them until personal delivery can be made. The guy is asking $300 for everything.

Dibs!
Now where'd I leave that $300........

Travis and I are working out pickup arrangements since I'm leaving for Moab post haste.

Take delivery at WF?

Heck, we should meet at FN before then for a pre run. Maybe do a Turkey Fest.

Shit Mark, I can't, right now, what with starting up the business and the expenses associated with it.
And I was this close......
But, whatcha gonna do?:dunno:
Oh well, those won't be the last axles for so cheap.
I'd be willing to trade $300 worth of OKF armor for them.

I'm sure we can work out a trade.

I've already made arrangements to pick them up. If you decide you don't want them I'll just add them to my growing collection.

If you decide you would rather run ford radius arms, I've got a hp44 out of a bronco with the cast (forged) radius arm mounts. I'm really needing a 72-76 hp44 with the weld on radius arm mounts, I bought the Bronco one for parts.

I'll get you some pictures as soon as I pick them up. The guy said they are the stock 4.10:1 gears, and the spiders have been welded in the D60. He has the drive shafts too.

Oh, THAT Travis.:D
Like you, I'm definitely not wanting to run RAs, so the mounts gotta be able to come off.
Plus I'd be narrowing them to stock XJ width, or thereabouts, so cast mounts would suck for that.
Let me know what you may be interested in.

Since I can't spend the money right now...

At the U-pull-it in Aurora there is an gold woody 87 XJ with a 44. (pretty sure anyway) They charge $150 if you pull it, $200 if they pull it. It sits on the main row walking back to the back.(on the left side) It isn't on tires or blocks and sits on the ground so there is NO way you'd be able to pull it yourself unless they hoist it up for you first.

I was gonna go get it but can't spend any money outside of family needs till the new job begins.

Move fast. That place changes around quickly. There are about 3 or 4 decent XJ's mostly front collisions. Throttle bodies and lots of mirrors and lamps/side markers available. I got a like new rear headliner speaker mount for $6, but they had to charge me $5 for the speakers. Complete with a like new harness out of a 96.

Well shit, if he doesn't want them then I'll just keep them for my '97. I've always played keeping up with the Jones' with that rig anyway.

Met the kid at a truck stop on Thursday night. He brought the axles in the back of a small station wagon. It was dark so I couldn't really see what they looked like. It was a PITA to get them out of his car.

The D60 has had the spiders welded, along with a big crack in the carrier. The cover had a big hole in it, and about half of the cover bolts are broken off in the housing.

The D44 turned out to be a LP. I really don't think it is worth the trouble of messing with.

Sounds like a pile of scrap to me.

I think I've found a home for the D44 under my brother's 3/4 ton international 2wd, but the D60 is getting stripped and scrapped.

Travis, if you do find something, like narrow 60s from an old dodge ambulance, for example, let me know?:D

a LP44 never came in a 76 250... that axle had to come from something else... does it have disc brakes? what is the BOM?

not to hijack, but this seems like the crowd that'd have one -
anyone have a spare long side inner from a full width hp d44?

According to Mr. N, the F-250's had a low-pinion heavy-duty housing until '77.5.
