lots of people seem to make the axle shafts and outers real strong, but the d30 has a smallish ring gear. Bloose shredded a front R&P at winterfest, and I've seen pictures of kid4lyf's destroyed R&P.

Here it is...Yukon 4340 shaft. Broken on Clawhammer at Johnson Valley.
At the time I was running 33x12.5 15 BFG MT's with A TruTrac in the front end.
General consensus was that it was a "bad" axle...Most of them don't break with 33's. Yukon warrantied it.

another yukon 4340 shaft. broken on Guard Rail in Tellico...running 33x12.5 TrXus with an Aussie. Maybe not just a 'bad' axle? Still waiting on warranty.....

Actually...that one looks like it was abused before it broke. Twisted splines are a good sign that it did what it was supposed to do. Mine broke but showed no indication of twisted splines. BTW Mine were also only 1 month old and I wasn't doing anything "extreme" when it let go. I was actually on a section of trail that most guys were still in 2 wheel drive.
