hey guys need some help bad!

i got a 92 4.0 ho xj and it aint wanting to shift, but when you floor it it will shift fine, a buddy of mine checked it out when i wasnt around and messed with some cable on the intake, like i said i wasnt around so i couldnt tell ya what it was he messed with, but with that being said after he did it would shift fine, but it has gone back to the way it was, im not sure what needs to be done . Any help from yall would be great thanks

Could be a symptom of a bad throttle position sensor, or faulty wiring from it.

He more then likely adjusted the throttle kick down cableor the throttle position sensor. Could not tell you how to adjust it or the throttle position sensor.
