10th anniversary??!!!

First winterfest was in 2000. So using all my fingers, I came up with this being the 10th anniversary of winterfest. The longest running NAXJA event? While I don't know for sure the Moab or Tellico events are probably close...

While I was in attica for the original winterfest weekend in 2000, I was scoping out the club and met/wheeled with those that were there...I then joined in May of 2000. Including that first one, I've made everyone except for the one that was not in Attica (which I don't really count as winterfest...but I digress)...

so that's 9 out of 10 for me...

I've been at a river, a campground and hotel (both haunted and not)

been drunk at all.

had straw to help with the mud, and the bus to shield against the wind.

I'm in my third major relationship and I've attended single.

Pretty sure the Sam clone was '04. BJ had just started kegging then.

That stuff was damn good, it convinced me to try homebrewing again.

'04 was my first, '05 I was in Hawaii but participated by phone, and I believe it was Okie Terry that was tossing the straw bales on the fire in '06. I have a pic from across the campground of the 20' flames :scared:

I froze my butt off at the '07 Attica WF, made the first day of the Missouri WF and drank too much at the campfire that night. Froze again sleeping in the van, then drove home with a killer hangover and went to Maui the next day.

'08 was a good time, but I'll be in Hawaii again for this one :(

the founding members of NAXJA had a small internet group based out of Chicago, BJ, some know him as Beezil, was the one that put it all together.

NAXJA was concieved, carried, and born with out a C-Section in Attica.

The midwest has all of the history of our group.

my first winterfest/time wheeling was winterfest 01 or 02. a 1/2 black guy from chicago was a little nervous about sleeping by river in a town called attica with a bunch of white guys he didnt know.

i have no job/no girl anymore so what else am i do to do...i might head to winterfest. winterfest/attica has always left me feeling good.

My first Winterfest was 2004 ... Aaron and I slept in the "Ramada" ... damn it was cold ... the wind was merciless. I believe that was the year Wheeler rolled his Jeep and Bob spent most of Saturday repairing a busted drivers side knuckle. The straw, which has become something I always bring, was originally intended to provide a nice cozy bed in the trailer, but it was so damned muddy at the fire, it was best used on the ground.

Sean Rose, a.k.a. Oneton had Hyrdro steering and 37's, pretty much unheard of at that time.
