this is my first time posting on this site and hope to gain some valuable insight to the world of XJ's

My question is my carb in my 86 2.8 is about to go out, and I was looking around to find a new one and foud this ... http://www.quadratec.com/products/51318_107.htm (http://www.quadratec.com/products/51318_107.htm) made by Weber. Would this carburetor be a straight bolt on? My only concern are all the sensors and garbage found on the stock air cleaner (which in my opion have no place on a carburated engine).

would this carb work if i still used the stock air cleaner?

has any one used one of these, and if so how did it perform?

Quadratec is a good reliable company, if they say it fits then it will, and as for the sensors, are u sure they are just vacuum hoses, and such?

and they do test most things they sell , so i would not worry, if u loke it , buy it.
