nss now starts in gear

i just removed and cleaned my nss as per the articles advise. greased it up put it on and now it starts in gear, any gear. i did the cleaning because i had no reverse lights, which now i do (so happy). i played with the adjustment for an hour but no luck. and when i was done it took about 10 minuites to get it started. any ideas would be great because i dont wanna buy another one. i have a 95 xj country

You did use dielectric grease?

Did you adjust the NSS?

Don't buy another one. You can adjust it.
