Hey guys,

I recently starting using synthetic grease in my grease gun, but seems like there is grease oil leaking from it now, which I assume is from the grease.

When I was using regular dino grease, it didn't do this.

But now, its a big mess, and it seems that no matter how much I wipe it off, there is always more...the oil leaking from it has the consistency of gear oil (fortunately, it doesn't smell like it).

is this normal?

thanks.

Mine does this too. Annoying to say the least. Im wondering what the grease in the joints and TRE's looks like? Does it turn into a liquid-ish state? Thus reducing lubricating qualities? Or is it all in my head? Discuss.

You need to lay t flat and change directions every few days or a couple of times a week. I try to lay mine flat and flip it over, keeps the lighter lube mixed better. I try to do all the jeeps lube at the same time so I use as much as possible then I don't refill the gun till the next time. For some reason my front driveshaft seems to take the most and the funny thing is I have no idea where it goes, the driveshaft is always dry and the zerk ball is not letting it come back out again either.

So, I'm wondering...if the grease looses all that 'oil'...does it loose its lubricating properties???...same concern that gregg75 has...

Or is that 'oil' just a by product.

Also, I've never seen 'wheel bearing' grease do this...oil separation...the stuff that comes in the round can...both regular and synthetic stuff.
