Looking at it now, I'm actually glad it happened when it did. I had a spare shaft relatively close by at home, and I wasn't on the trail (well the placement of the Jeep could have been better). When I put some new shoes on, I knew I would have to upgrade shafts. I just didn't think it would be so soon. The u-joint was a cheapo Carquest replacement (w/ grease zerk) and the shafts were the smaller 260X. I think once I throw in a set of 297X, and tack on the caps, I shouldn't have anymore problems. Once is enough for me. :D
