I need the plastic piece that attaches the mirror to the Jeep. The mirror (break-away design) has 2 vertical pins that attach to the piece that I neeed. The piece I need then attaches to the Jeep with 5-6 screws. I believe that all years up to 97 will work.

Hey Hale this must be fate I was just getting ready to post the exact same wanted post but I am looking for the drivers side. There is about 7 xj's at my local salvage yard and if it stops snowing and sleeting and raining before sat I am going to go looking. If I see a p/s there I will pick it up for ya, and bring it to WF.

I've got a pair of mirrors in the shed from a 1st gen XJ. I'll check in the AM to see if they have the brackets or not.

I have a drivers side mirror that is the cable adjuster w/ the "break away" bracket. If you want it Cardboard, $12 (just covers shipping) shipped in a flat rate box for the whole thing. The whole mirror assembly is in excellent shape. PM me if interested.

Hale, I think I have a pass side mirror that is busted with a good break away plate, I will have to check on that one though, no promises it is good.

I am looking for the same part...so, if there are more than one, I am next in line to purchase. (is this a hi-jack?)

Thanks!

Mike - I had one of these in the shed, but broke it trying to get it off the mirror

I think it will still work, it just chipped off part of the "U" on the front side.

I can get a pic if you want to see it.

Anyone find anything? Byron is the only one I've heard back from and his isn't 100% usable.

Mike,I will bring a whole pass mirror assembly to WF with me and will let you try and take it apart so I am not the one who breaks it :D

Mike the yard I went to says it is part of the complete mirror assembly, therefore he wants $30.00 :bs:.
I just super glued mine again, so maybe I can get it through WF before it breaks again.
