Trying to tap a light for my license plate that is now on my tire carrier, but don't know what color wire to tap into thats in the right rear quarter panel. I though it was red/blue, but that didn't work.

It's blue on the Renix scheme and dark blue/red on the OBD1 scheme. Yours is likely dark blue/red.
