I am rebuilding the BBQ, and got a new 50 gallon drum.
I have welded the lid on, Not too bad for my first welding experience.
But to the question: Does anyone local have a plasma cutter I can borrow, or bring my drum to their place to get cut?

I don't know how local I am, but I have one.

Did you try a Sawzall yet?

Rick, your not local to anyone :D

Have not tried the Sawzall, because I need to cut around the inside radius of the lids. The SZ could do the trick for the length of the barrel, but was hoping for the PC for the radius cuts.

Using a 55gal drum sounds kinda redneck :laugh3:

We met when you came to Fort Collins to repair my wire bonder.

The original, now rusted out, came with my house.
Redneck, maybe, but do you know how much Carne Asada you can put on a 55 gallon BBQ? :D

I remember well, how have you been. How's the bonder doing?

Bring it up to San Gabriel and we can cut it and weld it here.

plasma cutter means a good 20 amp circut and a good hi volume air compressor, both are here in my shop.

Probably Charcoal, but thinking about it maybe I will work on convertible between the two.

NO!

Brendan is not allowed around flammables.
