Any one come across a single broadband router that can also serve as a VPN server ? Got a couple of friends that have business's and want to vpn into their shops from home or anywhere else for that matter. They are currently running SMC 7008's which have no vpn capability at all, all have broadband cable with DHCP so I already know I will need to use a DDNS service. I've looked at the lower end cisco asa's and none of the basic ones come with vpn client licenses. I've not done any VPN setups from scratch so I'm still coming up to speed on it and what is needed without getting carried away.
Suggestions appreciated.

DD-WRT has that ability, just install it on any compatible box

It provides PPTP so you can use the Windows VPN client

We use watchguard products where I work. You might want to give that a look.

If they are somewhat tech savy you can always tunnel over ssh. Super cheap option as long as there aren't many people to support.

I prefer to avoid commercial vampires that bleed you dry over time to keep the stuff running and when you stop paying it too stops. I like cisco but the entry prices are too high for smaller business's, $800 for the system then they tack on $1200 for the licenses, ticks me off that they just don't tell you up front it's $2000.
This DD-WRT looks like a real good alternative, uses a $70 router and 10 minutes to upload the new firmware, if it works I'll even paypal them a couple of hundred. It also has vlan capability for the 4 switch ports and *maybe* the wireless side, that offers some other options for 'guests' and customers for keeping them off the business network side.
