Trans Mystery Washer

I recently did a fluid/filter change on my auto trans in a '00... an AW-4 I believe.

When I dropped the pan and was cleaning it out- I found this.




It wasn't attached to any of the magnets- just laying there in the bottom of the pan. I checked for loose something-or-others or areas for missing bolts- but found nothing that it may be related to. It kinda looks like the washers around a spark plug- but it's too small for that.

Anyone have a clue as to it's origin?

definitely some kind of drain plug crush washer. do the auto's have drain plugs in the pan, i can't recall? maybe that's where it came from. no idea how it would've gotten into the pan though.

yep- has a drain plug- but the washer was not around the the plug on the exterior iirc. could have been from factory goof up?
