RE Spring Pack Center Pin, Installing

I'm in the process of installing a RE Spring pack and have noticed two small issues. I wanted to get opinions of people here before i proceed.

The center pin that came with the RE spring packs is two long and bottom outs with the axle tube and its diamter is too large for the spring mount additionally.

Do i just grind it down for length and enlarge the hole for the diamater ?

Any quick responses would be appreciated.

THanks,
Pete

Re: RE Sprint Pack Center Pin, Installing

Drill the spring perch and remove 1 sleeve from the center pin.

Thanks...

There is no sleeve, its just one piece large pin.

I guess i will just drill the hole larger and grind the pin down a bit.

Are you sure RE always used a pin spacer in their leafpack(look closely).

That pin is designed to go through a shim as well. Mine was the same size but worked fine when both the perch and the shim are drilled.
