if I still lived in NC I would probably come. Use it as an excuse to drive on the beach. Since you cannot do that anywhere near pensacola

Man sorry to here about the mishap with the new engine. Hopefully you'll get in back running soon. Maybe it's a sign you should go v8 or make a stroker...

lol i would if i could afford it but i have a line on a 95 2wd that has a rough body but the motor is pretty clean and runs good. and it has a 8.25 in it that i can use for my other jeep. its gonna be my parts truck. 600 bucks i couldnt pass it up.

desertfox1023
January 22nd, 2009, 14:07
Thought you got an 8.25 from your friend with a lockright for your other one?

Timmy2XJS
January 22nd, 2009, 14:53
i did. and now i have parts for it. oh shat if its not a 29 spline its kinda useless? damn it. well then its gonna be my back up or ill sell it off for some parts or cash. its a 2wd so no front axle to use so all i have is the back one. to ravage. brakes and drive shaft will be the first things to be swapped. and maybe the leaves.......i havent decided yet.

R_jeep
January 25th, 2009, 12:18
a couple good wobbly extensions and i think the top two are e-torx or 12 point. let that tranny hang and jack the front of the engine up a bit so you can get at it better.

Timmy2XJS
January 25th, 2009, 12:26
well its about 35 here and all my help has bailed on me until a warmer day comes. so i get the feeling that were done for the day. but wobbly extensions huh? i hear 4 feet is the right length? lol

ill keep yall posted as i get the motor out or fire bomb the jeep. either or. :D

R_jeep
January 25th, 2009, 12:40
i have like 15 ft of 3/8 drive regular extensions in varying lengths from 1'' to 18''. the same in wobbly extensions. some universal jointed metrics are the bomb. i have a really nice set from matco that cost an arm and a leg but are worth it when i use them 8 hrs a day.

I just did a motor swap myself and will tell you the E12's go back in alot easier if you get the two bottom bolts in first and then drop the crossmember. Once it is dropped down all the way, you can thread those top two in by hand.

Jess
May 24th, 2009, 21:50
My 8 year old and I torn my bad one down. I kept all the good parts and told the wife she could plant flowers in the cracked block. That seemed like the only thing it was good for.

Timmy2XJS
May 25th, 2009, 19:34

double check crank sensor-- easy to forget to plug it in (all the way in back) and easy to booger it up during installation
