Building rear and front axle

I am building my front and rear axles I.e. Gears, lockers, axles trussing etc...

Anyone have any sites or posts covering gear installation posibly 8.8 ford and Dana 30

would this be your first gear install? do you have the install tools?

It's my first install yes. I have built engines and transmisions before but never a rear end. I have all the install tools, gauges, base, bearing and seal tools, hydraulic press, and the handtools I will need. I even have set up bearings for the 30 but need to make some for the 8.8

I am getting help from a experienced gm rear end specialist. He knows nothing of Dana.

I have read the pirate article which is a great article. I was just hoping there was information like torque preload for the 8.8 and the 30 out there

Your gear kits will come with all that info.

I looked through the kits and didn't see any yet

Tennessee is very important in a gear install, if you don't know what I am talking about, do your self a favor, find some one to show you how.

I've done 6 sets of gears and I don't think I know what Tennessee is.
What is it?
