WOW! Well here it goes: So I had to be at Vanderbilt Hospital this morning at 5:00 am. My dad underwent a 18hr procedure to remove the tumor from his throat/tongue. Needless to say it has been a LONG day. He got out and is doing EXCEPTIONALLY well in ICU. So, me and my wife head back home to our appartment(St. Andrews) at around 11:00pm. Get home to try and get some sleep. Went got in the bed around 12:00 and just started to dose off. Well the damn dog wouldnt stay still in the bed and was growling. At this point, im half awake and hear some noise outside. I stumble out of bed and look out the window(that was half fogged over) and see someone out there. Im half asleep and somewhat suspicious as to what a minivan is doing next to my Jeep. I grab my gun and put some pants on to go outside. The Dodge caravan took of as soon as I get out there. I see something on the ground so I go over to inspect and see the small glass on the drivers side rear door busted out. I look in and see that my Skil saw brand jigsaw was missing and **** was everywhere in my Jeep. The idiot tried to steal my cd player (witch I had bolted down http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif) and the dumb ass ripped the front off of the cd player! I immediately called th police and had them on the way.So I went in and grabbed the key to my wifes Civic and took of looking for him. Amazingly, I saw someone walking around at the other end of the complex and dive over to see whats goin on. I see the guy jumo into the Caravan and I block him in the spot! I jump out (my .32 was gripped tight in my right hand) and ask him what the **** is goin on!? He acts suprised and I told him dont try anything stupid or I will shoot him! I ask him what he was doing over ny my Jeep and he denies it and tells me there were two other people over there right now! So, right then I knew he did it because he knew what happened without me even saying anything! I said ok lets go see. I get back in my car and redial 911, tell them I have the guy barricaded and give the a full description of the vehicle with tag number. They said to let him go and they will get him. I pull forward and proceed to case him down St. andrews Dr. with the police on the phone and im giving them play by play for the chase! We get out on Hwy 96 and poceed to head torward Cason Ln. and out of nowhere a unmarked Chevrolet Silverado pulls a u-turn and turns the stobes on. I fall back and go back to my appt. Shortly after th police show up and ask If I could describe him and I gave them CRAZY detailed description of the dude! They proceed to investigate and lift prints etc on my Jeep. I described my jigsaw to them and he had it. They bring him back and he ended up confessing to over 6 break-ins tonight in the area!!!!! There was an accomplice but he got left behind. I told the officers I wanted to charge him with every pressable charge possible! Come to find out he has a felony record with warrants and He had stolen a .22 pistol to add to the felonies!http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/images/smilies/stare2.gif We filled out all the necissary reports and I actually git my jigsaw back and the other 5 people will get their belongings too! The office asked if I would appear in court to testify and I said HELL YES!!!! They are going to stick it to this dude! Watch out DOG, im catching criminals in the Mid TN area so Hawaii is next! lolhttp://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif Man, its been over 24 hours since I have been asleep and now I have the adrenaline to run a marathon! I really cant believe I went on a chase weilding a weapon and caught a felon! Wheres my badge!?!http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

Great work! If everyone did what you did there would be more a**holes in prison.
Now with that said, remember the ENTER is our friend when typing a long story. ;)
How's your Dad? Was it a benign tumor?

Josh,
Glad your dad is doing good.
I'm glad somebody got what they deserve. The only thing I would say is be careful as it could become a very dangerous situation real fast.
The police chief in Nashville is right, it's the same people doing the same crimes and the only way they get punished is when somebody gets hurt really bad or worse.
Punish this goober to the fullest extent of the law.

Yes, it's a no win situation. Either you have to shoot someone, or they take it from you and shoot you. I'd get a bigger gun that holds lots of bullets. You gotta figure the first 3 are going to miss. ;) I'm glad it worked out so well though, and no court time for to prove it was a justifed shooting.

Well Done!!! Glad to hear your dad is coming along!
Not to throw a blanket over your crime fighting skills, but these thugs have friends who now know where you live, carry your pistol ON YOU even in your home, watch your back, be prepared.

Way to go buds, I just love it when people stick up for themselves.:yelclap:
Had something similar happen to me while in Montreal a few years back. Suprised a dude trying to lift my 16V GTI coming out of a restaurant. I was with my wife that evening, told her to go and call the cops, then made my way to the car and asked the guy if he wanted some help with that. He told me he locked his keys in the car and was looking for a way in, ever so calmly... I then pulled my keys out and opened the door for him and the look on his face was just priceless. So I kept him from going anywhere until the cops got to me( I'm a UAC instructor for the Army). Now I don't encourage people to do this, just saying I have the skill set necessary to pull off stupidities like that.

Glad everything worked out okay and your dad is doing well. It's nice to see others who aren't content to just call 911 and go back to bed.
One suggestion, though. Block them in and stay in your car. Had they been armed or tweeking you could have easily been in a very bad spot. Being in the car you can still call in the info and can get out of Dodge quickly should need be.........
With that being said, Damn fine job.

You know what works even better call 911 and tell them your fixing to shoot the a**hole and there will be a cop there in under 5 minutes. I know this because I have done it twice. Once for a road rage incident and the other because of a peeping tom/possible burglar!!
