I know most of you have no idea who I am or know nothing about me but the ones who do know me will understand.

About 2 years ago I sold my '95 XJ to a guy in Washington state. Within those 2 years I have kept in good contact with him and assisted him with modifications that he wanted to do. It felt like it was in good hands and was being well taken care of.

Well today I get a call that his mountain cabin burnt to the ground along with the Jeep. He has put a significant amount of additional money into it with steeper gears, 49's on Staz works beadlocks and a few other things.

It seems a bit odd that I feel sad about this. I sold the Jeep. I was fine with it. But in all seriousness it feels as if I lost a long time friend.

Here are a few pics to refresh your memories;

I have yet to receive any pics of the aftermath but when I do I'll post them here.

I appreciate your time.

Sucks when that happens, I had a dodge maxi van that I spent 2 years customizing, won a few shows and was in a couple of magazines. Sold it to a guy who I thought would take care of it, he rolled it two weeks after he got it. Asshat was drunk when he did it.

I feel your pain. :patriot: All Jeep flags at half-staff.

When I was in the Air Force I sold a f-250 to a friend who 1 day later stalled it on the railroad tracks. Need less to say it was in pieces. Largest piece was the size of a small cooler. He survived and was extremely drunk when this happened.:gee:

Bummer! I loved that jeep man. It was very well done. You are missed around the fire. You should come camp with us this summer in AL.

Thanks for the responses guys. I do appreciate the compliments also. I built that Jeep for about 11 years and in it's final stage I decided it was complete. It was torn apart, redesigned and rebuilt so many times throughout it's time with me. One of the reasons I decided to sell it was to fund a tractor for our property.
It was built the old school way without all the flash of trendy do-dads that really don't help it wheel any better. I built it by myself without the help of computers or forums. There really wasn't much available for XJs when I started on mine. I feel it was a well thought out, capable trail vehicle that I enjoyed the hell out of.
I can't believe I'm still feeling like shit. Jesus, it's just a Jeep.
