The check engine light came on on my mom's 1998 Jeep cherokee classic, 4.0L automoatic. I was just wondering if anyone has ever gotten this code, and what was it??

All vacuum lines seem to be good with no cracks or leaks..

Probably a loose gas cap or one that needs replacing.

0442 is usually the gas cap. On mine it was a crack in a hose, but checking the gas cap is quicker and easier so do it first.

possibly a split hose at the vapor cannister or one of the rubber hoses that connect the hard line to it
