Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I was burglarized and wrote about it here immediately because it was a good way to vent and also a reminder to all of you who posess nice things to lock things up. However my post got removed and I was given a warning or something so I have since calmed down and will remove any racist comments.

When I left college for the break (Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama), I didn't think much of the 50'' plasma hanging on the wall being stolen. We someone else thought about stealing it and did.

Our door was pryed on, and then the resorted to popping the lock on the window and entering my home. MY home, as in I own half of it with my sister. This isnt just some college house that we are renting, it is mine. They had their time looking around and going through everything that I own along with everything that my roomies had was looked though too.

The list of things stolen is as follows:
-Phillips 50'' Plasma TV, purchased new July 2008-mine
-HP 15'' laptop, 5 years old but had alot of information on it -roomies
-Older Remington model 1100 12ga -my dad's
-Older New Haven by Mossberg model 250c .22LR rifle-my dad's
-Approximately $60 in quarters out of a jar I'd been saving- Mine
-Maglite-roomies
-Mechanix gloves-roomies
-Ammo-roomies
-My SS# card, might just be misplaced, but I know it was on my nightstand and is no longer could have been shoved under something and I just dont know. I will have to triple check when I get back.

The three guys had scouted out my house and decided to steal out stuff. While they scouted, there was a fourth man who for whatever reason (maybe a conscience) decided not to hel out. Well the fourth man ended up getting caught on his own and started snitching on his buddies to get a shorter sentence. He rode with the police around the neighborhoods saying where they had planned and where he knew that the other three had broken into. The four men were identified to me as black males, 2 of the 3 who burglarized me were adults and the third a minor. The fourth I dont know about but I assume he is an adult too. I asked their names, which I dont remember, but I do know I do not know them. All three from my case are being held with $15,000 bond. I think it should be more

Ends up they caught the three guys and recovered my TV (by far the most expensive item lost) and I can go pick it up when I get back after break. My roomies were happier to have the TV back (which wasnt theirs but they did enjoy watching) than their own stuff (which has yet to be recovered).

I hope that we get it all back. I really felt like a dick getting my dad's gun stolen, but it wont be happening again because we are all armed all the time now rather than just having guns in closets. They better be glad they didn't try that crap while we were home cause they'd be 6 feet under if they had.

I hope that dad's guns are recovered and that we can get my roommates laptop back with all its information intact. The other stuff I think I might take them to small claims court if they won't give it up. I want to see them fry though. America is too lax on their punishments. People who do drugs, steal, kill or something like that should be killed. Plain and simple. If you consciously hurt another person or take from them, then you should be dead. No one has the right to take from or hurt other people.

My rant is over and I will update if anything else happens.

Its a damn shame that things like this happen....society breeds this behavior though, "we" tolerate it too much. I'm with you, if you do shit like this, you've proved you're worthless to society and you should be eliminated from it permenantly.

I hope you get everything back - especially the guns - because you know they'll end up being used to commit another crime....

Someone deserves to be curb stomped...

i would say they would all be facing serious charges if weapons were stolen. :dunno:

glad you got your TV back, and i hope they pay like they should instead of getting a slap on the wrist.

Well at least you get your stuff back. Some punks broke into my truck before Thanksgiving, they caught the bastards that night, my stuff was recovered, the bastards admitted to do committing the crime, the police still have my stuff and wont give it back, I call hem every day. Today I asked them who the crooks were...

50" Plasma was the attractor, the rest was just available.

Years back some students rented a house near mine, and I got to know them as they seemed interesting. One fellow had this real flashy Ford truck with lots of chrome and never locked it. I told them that they were no longer living in the country and to lock up their stuff. House was always open, garage always open, and the neighbor hood was questionable. They also had nice stuff. Soon, things came up missing. One day, I watched as a neighborbood low life came and lifted their lawn mower right out of their open garage in the light of day. They couldn't believe it, but they learned their lesson and kept a much lower profile afterwards.

Sean, sorry to hear your stuff is still in impound! Sometimes it's hard to deal with the Police when they won't give back the stuff that was stolen from you.

Atleast the plasma is back, along with the crooks captured. When our apartment was broken into several years ago they took our video camera which was packaged with family memories.

hopefully more good news awaits as time passes by

One house gets robbed.. your truck gets broke into at the other one....

Don't EVER give me any crap about living off the end of the paved road again...

I'll take honest Hillbillies over whiny, overprivilaged, snotty, suburban thieves....

I'll take dealing with bears, deer, and the occasional wolf at my house. Nearest neighbor is 2 1/2 miles down the road and only during the summer weekends.

This is not to say it can't happen here. Just that everyone who tried to get to my house ended up getting lost.

You'd think a guy who has connections 'in the business' would have had some form of gun safe. Oh well. :)

I had my sub compact 9mm xd stolen out of my xj about 2 years ago right in the parking lot at work. They also got my sub and the stereo faceplate (but not the stereo...dumbasses). I still miss that gun. The tactical is a little large to carry iwb sometimes:rof:

sorry to hear about your misfortune.... i was fallowing you until you said people who do drugs should be 'dead'.

home robbery is one thing, drug use is another.
slow your roll john wayne. what are you gonna do, round up the boys? your guns probably attracted the attention in the first place, even if you are more sly about it now.

you should startup a bsc south chapter...

In the Middle East, drug use/possession is considered a capitol crime and punished as such. Drug use is rare. I know Kuwait will hang you on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, and it is open for public viewing. Kuwait uses a slip knot instead of a hangman’s noose.

No,a gun safe "should" be manditory everywhere.California already has some of most strict laws on what can happen to "you" if your guns fall into anyones hands(kids).

Its a shame you think drug use leads to anything good. Hell, right now, there is complete instability in Mexico thanks to drug cartels...and people think the solution is legalization? Riiiight....

With regards to punishment if your guns are stolen...sounds like a typical CA law....lets focus blame away from who actually committed the crime and create a new law so that we can punish the victim....yeah, another great idea. How silly of us....the problem isn't that we don't do enough to punish criminals - the problem is, we're not doing enough to punish the INNOCENT LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.

Brilliant.
